Timing/ECM advice

Hey guys,

ive had a chip burned for my 2.8 V6 T5 car to sort the air/fuel curves and to add and removed a few sensors and other items on my car. Its now having a hard time starting when warm although the base timing is as it should be 10 BTDC.

My question is, once you've fiddled with the fuel and air curves will the timing need altering to compensate? It started fine hot or cold when I timed it by ear, but timed it with a light to factory specs and it won't start well when hot.

Re: Timing/ECM advice

You would have to talk to the person who burned the chip for you. How did they do it? Did they just burn a chip based on some predetermined parameters or did they actually hook up to your car and burn it based on your actual vehicle? The best way to do it is have a data logger using a wide band O2 and read what your car is actually doing, then tune based on that.
Have you tried posting in the DIY PROM subforum? There are only a handful of people in here who have experience with this, that subforum is dedicated to this stuff. Likely, they will need more info though.
