Thermostats..

Just a quick Q.. what is generally the best temp thermostat to put into our third gens? And what comes stock? I don't know what I have in mine, but I can tell you my engine idle temp is around 180 or 190.. And my electric fan doesn't kick on until about 230 or 235.

Thanks.

Stock is 195*... I wouldn't go colder than 170* if your driving your car daily, year round... The fan operation sounds about right for stock, you can probably change the fan switch to come on at a lower temp, or wire it to come on with a switch.

My fan is off a switch aqnd my buddy Brian K has his setup to come on with the ignition. We both run 185 thermo's and things work better.
