Re: V6 electric cooling fan switch

You'd have to burn a new chip for the ECM. It's controlled by engine temp. I had a toggle switch wired in to my car so I could switch it on/off when I wanted to, if I was sitting in line at the drag strip waiting or stop/go traffic.

Yes, there are various other fan switches that can be swapped in. The stock one turns on at 116°C/241°F. Rather high as it is a backup to the ECM.

The one for a '89 TTA turns on at 100°C/212°F. Just double check first that it has the same threads. Note that there are other temperature switches with other turn on temperatures.

RBob.

Re: V6 electric cooling fan switch

Hi there,
Rodney Dickman has Fiero parts for the V6, and has a switch that works for our V6. Needs a 180F thermostat, though.
