East Coast Nats V6 Class

please do not lock or delete this post. i am seriously trying to get info on including something for V6's cars in the east coast nats. i am asking on thirdgen.org because it was on the tbi board that the idea for the east coast nats began. this is something i do purely as an enthusiast, i do not make any money or get anything out of it, just the satisfaction of seeing a few hundred f-bodies all coming together for soem good clean fun.

hey guys,
i have received several emails recently from V6 owners wanting to race in a bracket class with other V6 cars, away from teh V8 powered cars.
what i woudl like to know is if this is something that you guys woudl like to come to watch or participate in? are there any V6 oriented vendors that you guys woudl liek to see as a vendor or sponsor at the event.
please let me know what you guys think.

thanks
tim

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was going to suggest it for last years gathering, but I figured I'd get flamed by the V8 guys...

I think it's a superb idea...

Maybe rather than V8 + V6 class... you could arrange bracket racing for different times... 17 second cars all the way down to 9-? or perhaps stock and mod classes for all the different engine types... and definatly include an open class for people who don't want to be segregated...

Lg4 guys will complain just as much when they go up against an L98 as a LB8 will complain against an LB9...

Just some mind spew for you to chew...

I had to work for last years gathering, but this year I will most definatly be there!!! I think this is such a great thing you've started for us northern east coast guys... and you couldn't have picked a better track to have it at!

Good luck and have fun making this years ECFBG even better than the last!

the way it si looking if we put the class in it will be all V6 vs V6. that way you guys won't have to put up with any trash talk or anything from the V8 guys.

Tim, sounds good... can't wait to see what it'll be like...

I hope to have my car in the 16's (sounds funny doesn't it) by the time I run there... It's possible I'll have a V8 ride by that time as well...we'll just have to see...

Thanks again and good luck.

they check to see if you have a helmet(if you don't you can rent one) and they make sure your battery is held down tight. it is a pretty basic inspection for anything running above 11's usually.

the event is open to any f-body any year, any condition, any condition of resto, or mod you want. the idea is just to have a place where we can all come together to hang and shoot the doodoo about our cars.
that is why we are trying to incorporate so many events. i have seen so many gatherings before that were just for birds or just for a particular gen, i think they are nice, but i wanna see everyone hangin together.
the part that i think makes this event a bit different than most of the other events is that it is being organized and run by enthusiasts just for the funof it. we don't pay and we don't get paid for running this. well, it does cost a few bucks ion phone calls, but i can live with that.
