87 Sport Coupe 2.8l V6 ground identity

This may be a stretch to get identified but here goes

87 Camaro Sport Coupe with 2.8l
There are 2 black wires tied together with a lug on the drivers side inner fender near the brake booster and relay cluster.
Some squirrels used that corner to stash their acorns and chewed the insulation off one of them and I’m not sure if it’s gone all the way through.
The wires seem to go down to a wire bundle and go through the firewall

Does it matter what it goes to? If it's a problem just fix it. No need trying to figure out if you have a problem elsewhere because you might have a problem here. Always fix known problems first.
If you have a potential ground issue here it doesn't matter where it goes until you fix it.
