5000 Mile Roadtrip

Thought Id share, I did this trip last summer but heres my 1987 2.8L V6 with a 5spd I took from Chicago to Newport, Oregon and back. I bought the car for $4k running and driving with a rear main oil leak and a bad radiator.

Im a fourth year college student and this is my first car so I use this forum a ton to repair and build my car. Hoping to do another roadtrip to California this summer

I love stories like this. Guys just out DRIVING AND ENJOYING their cool old cars. It could have been sitting in your yard collecting dust while you built some cool new v8 or dreamed of some expensive transmission swap, but you were out there doing what we should be doing: driving and enjoying our cars for what they are/were.

I also love that color combo, faded paint and all.

Re: 5000 Mile Roadtrip

Heck yeah, man! Love to see a thirdgen getting driven like it's supposed to, especially a V6 Wasn't so long ago that I was in the same boat as you with school, still haven't found the time off from work now to finally take mine on a good roadtrip... livin' the dream man, enjoy it! Beautiful Camaro as well, love that color combo. As a Cali native btw, I'll go ahead and wish you the best of luck if you have the misfortune of driving on the 5 or 405 or 91 on your upcoming trip not sure if they allow motorcycles to lane split in your neck of the woods, but do note that they allow it in Cali, so you're gonna have Harleys blowin by you while you're stuck in the 405 parking lot realtalk though, have fun man, hope the Camaro keeps treating you well!
