Heres a few sites to look at:
http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/gm28stroker.html
http://www.engine-parts.com/GMV6/28camspecs.html
http://www.crower.com/pdf/19.pdf (Make sure you have adobe)
http://www.cranecams.com/master/apps/chevy1.htm
About the performance gains I am too poor to afford any of these mods, so I do not have any to compare from. But I am sure there are lots of people on this board who can help you out.

Anywhere, really... http://www.summitracing.com is my favorite. Keep in mind you'll never see a part listed for a 2.8/3.1 in their catalogs or on their websites; you have to know how to search for it- or you can do what I used to do, and CALL them. They'll know. Some examples-
Dynomax Super Turbo cat-back #17493 was meant for V8's, but fits our cars.
Holley ignition module #891-103 is sold only for V8 TPI remote-coil ignitions, but the same stock (GM) module is used for both the V8 TPI remote-coil ignitions and our V6 MPFI remote-coil ignitions, so it'll work
Any ignition coil sold for a V8 will fit. And I do mean -any-! Yes, even the MSD Blaster 2 will fit, you just have to modify our wiring harness to take it.
Any rear gears sold for a V8 f-body will fit our 7.5" 10-bolt rear ends.
Any suspension part sold as being for a "TransAm" or "IROC" or "Z28" will fit our cars. (edit- with the exception of a strut tower brace! Nobody's 100% sure of this one yet.)
The adjustable fuel pressure regulator sold for GM V8 TPI motors will fit our cars (same regulator).
Even the K&N filters sold as for Camaro TPI or Firebird TPI will fit the same year of Camaro or Firebird with V6 MPFI. (Ex= 86 Camaro TPI filterS work on an 86 Camaro V6, 88 Firebird TPI filteR (one) will fit 88 Firebird V6 MPFI.)
Etc, etc... plus, do searches on this V6 forum for parts and you're sure to find numbers.

ahh, yes the STB question. no one is quite sure if it fits....mainly because it has been mentioned the the 60* V6 sits higher than the 90* V8....which makes some sense because 60* is narrower than 90* making the the height a bit higher.....in theory (if that made sense)....anyway....those are all good suggestions, and TomP is right, calling is the best way to go most of the time, and the best way to get answers.
Brian k's suggestions were good.....and IF you have the money, you'll get the biggest bang right away by going that route. Although keep in mind 4:10 gears aren't for everyone, gas milage on the highway will suck, but accelleration off the the line will be tremendous.....thats why many people on decide on 3.42's or 3.73's. just wanted to add my .02 on gearing.
and keep in mind, everyones opinnions on perfomance will differ...decide what you can afford and what your goals are and work from there. I have yet to do the cam....rockers....or shift kit and my car had noticably more power than stock...
