General 3rd Gen question
I replaced the hood support shocks in the bird the other day, damn that thing sits high now. Has had vise grips & a crutch holding it up before. Any one else have to rig these?
Also: Anyone here have a model of a 3rd gen? My wife got me one of a 91 off of e-bay. the only other 2 I have seen are the Knight Rider one & a modified dagster/ green snap on & Kay Bee down in K-Town a year ago. plenty of 1st, 2nd, & 4th gen models.

I have a 20th anniversary GTA Turbo one. My friend gave it to me 5 years ago when I was a Sophmore in High School. I glued it together and I still have it. It looks nice, but boy I wish I'd of left it in the box. That thing is worth some jack!!!
I had to put those hood things in to. I thought it was pretty easy. And I think changing oil is hard.

Do you really have to take off the hood to install those? I really need some bad, and I usually do all my car work myself. Just today I changed my oil in 15 minutes. It might not be anything to brag about but the first time I changed oil, it took almost an hour!

I got a nice set to put onto my car once I finish painting it. Oh and one thing too, have the hood fully extended when taking the struts off. One of my friends didnt have the hood all the way up, he started to pound on it to get it off and suddenly I heard a loud pop
That hood sturt had knocked a nice ol dent into the hood when it came out
and scared the hoohaw out of him.It was a good thing the hood was a j/y one.

I did hae some used ones from junk yard, they didn't do sqaut
When the front end is finished I'll push the bird forward & put the rear ones on. Those socks aint cheap.
The model I have is the 91 GTA by amt, still has the plastic wrap on it.Think it cost around $35. these are no longer made.
