fuel gage ?

My car does not have a tach instead it has the huge fuel gage, so I think that I'll replace it with a 5 inch tach. Does any body make an aftermarket fuel guge that runs on the two wire setup that gm uses.

For my 85 Firebird, I am swapping in a V-6 gauge package.
I have your current dash set up, big speedo, big fuel, idiot lights.
I am hoping that by matching my current wiring block to the V-6 Guage package plug in socket I also took, it will be an easy swap!
In my S-10 Blazer, I have gauges minus tach. I just added a small tach.
Look for the proper gauge package in the yards.
PLUS your TACH MUST BE A V-6 VERSION OR ELSE IT WILL READ INCORRECT
PLUS THE V-6 OIL PRESURE READING GOES TO 80!!
V-8 is 60!!!
You can swap guts of V-8 tach with V-6. And same with oil pressure gauge.
I did that to my V-8 gauges I have to swap into my 1985.
That is FIRST ON THE LIST, due to rising water temp with working AC unit, soon!
Comes as same time as oil change. New gauge pressure fitting on car, needed.

Why install a GM compatible one? All you need is one wire going to the ignition coil, and you get your tach signal. That'll be a pain swapping gauges out... I'm not sure how to do it, other than rip stuff out and hope the tach fits. I hung my Sunpro Super Tach so it blocks the driver's side a/c vent.

ok let me clearify some things I'm placing an aftermarket tach in the place of the gas gage. What I wounted to know if there is any comanay that makes a fuel guage that connects like the gm fuel gage so I dont have to cut up the wiring harness

You CANNOT DO THAT.
IF you remove your current gauge cluster, you will see why.

Aw geez I'm sorry; you want an aftermarket fuel gauge- I saw "tach" and just went from there. My bad!

If you ask this up on the appearance board, you might find some gauge packages. (In fact, do a search for gauge on that appearance board!) Some guys re-made their whole dash to hold a full set AutoMeter gauges in the stock locations! They had to rewire everything, but man, it made for an awesome looking dash!!
