17x9" too much?
hey, i am looking for a new set of rims for my camaro, been leaning alot towards the american racing rebel style ----> http://cgi.ebay.ca/American-Racing-R...QQcmdZViewItem
problem is they are 17x9, is that too much for this car, 9" is pretty wide, do you think its gonna rub, note car is being lowered about 1.25" al around. Don't know what size tire i should go with and am expecting the tires would be pretty expensive for a 9" wide rim aye?

17x9 is a good size you shouldnt have ne rubbing issues
id go with 275 40 17 (on the rear) on that size rim, nice choice of wheel by the way

The Rebels will need a front spacer to clear both the tie rod & also the center hub is deeper than the center of the wheel. probably 5/8" to 3/4" thick & the dust cover will need flattened so the decorative center fits.
There are a few variations of that wheel design. I had 2 sets that were different in the center thickness Measure yours before buying spacers.

Those are a good size. I have 17x9s on mine with 275/40ZR17s all around. No issues to speak of. Make sure you research and get the correct spacers though.
