My crappy 15 FB GTA Imitation wheels.... help!!
Hello everyone. I have a base 92 firebird in teal, and although its only a base I still love it. But I tell you what I don't love, and thats my crappy 15 FB GTA imitation wheels. They are quite the eye sore. Even when i clean them up, the paint lacks luster, not to mention they are pretty damned small. I would just buy new rims and tires, but i only have enough for one, not the other. Im looking around used for a deal with rims and tires on them.....
I really don't want to get rid of these rims for a while though, because they have brand new tires with about 2k miles on them.... When I graduated HS my parents forced me to buy tires because my previous ones were very, very bald.
Regardless though, wouldn't one say that the gold rims against a teal metallic car be a bad match to begin with?
There is a powdercoating shop around here that does rims, for about 85 bucks a pop they make them look like new. Not sure if I should do this... I think that maybe I should get them colored black? I'm not sure. Any ideas on how I could make these things look half way decent would be awesone.
Thanks to all posts regarding this in advance!

Hey Mike, I see that you're in NY. Please follow the link in my sig to NYTHIRDGEN. And feel free to join!
You can strip the wheel with some Aircraft Stripper and then paint them with some black wheel paint or any other color. Less than $85 for the supplies.

That aircraft stripper is some nasty stuff.
Can't you pay someone to beadblast the rims and then paint them?
Alternatively, you can just buy a cheap set of different 15" wheels and mount your tires on them.

You could do this, but if the $85 includes stripping them down, them refinishing them, that's a good deal!

If I had a local place that could do that, I would to all 8 of my wheels! Even if I only did 1 per month...
