New Wheels and Tires about to come!
New Wheels and Tires about to come!
Purchased a set of BOZE Boost wheels about 9 months ago and never installed them because didnt have the money to buy the tires
. Just recently picked up a set of Michelins from ebay, now have to get some more money to have them installed at a reputable shop that wont hack the heck out of my life savings
. Anyone running 245 45 18 in the front? Think they will rub on tight turns? Oh well it doesnt matter now, ive got them coming already. Wait for the pics guys, will post them soon. By the way, how can i post pictures anyways? Just click the attachment like on emails? I will figure it out, but wanted to get everyone ready for what is to come. I will need a new windshield and paint job, that is next.

buying tires from ebay i would not do . unless they are less than 2 yrs. old from date of mfg. and new . buying used tires is like buying a used condom , you never know the mileage or the abuse it may have seen . just my thoughts . good luck .
Re: New Wheels and Tires about to come!
Sure I do, they are not used, they are new. Still have stickers on them and from a very highly rated seller. Ive got the rears already, just waiting for the fronts. They might be little older, but as long as they are not stored outside at dry rot sets in, they are good. No dryness to these tires. The wheels and tires cost more than what i paid for the car! I just couldnt justify putting on some lower cost tires like Kumho, Nankang after i spent so much on wheels. So i had to get a set of higher profile tires in the front....5% more aspect ratio than i wanted for the right price. Overall it should be 1" taller in diameter from stock 245 50 16 tires. We'll see how they look once they arrive. They are Michelin Pilot Sports...Viper tires. OH the wheels are so pretty.

That's great at least they dont rub, main concern. Do you have pictures? what are you running in the rear, ive got 275 40 18. There seems to be a lot of people running the rears but i havent seen any pictures of the 245 45 18 yet.

if they got your offset right, chances are unless you told them the offset they used what i used as they built the first thirdgen set for me. did you buy direct? Boze makes a great wheel and offers great service. A+ company.
measure your backspacing if it's 4.5-4.75 your perfect. as for the tire size your definately off as you wanted 245/40/18 for the right 25.5" dia range. but when your short on cash you do what you have to. i would have went with a much cheaper tire then michelins for an 18x8. i have to have michelins on my rear because the market for a 19x10 tire is very limited so i'm paying roughly $500 a tire but luckily my 19x8 245/35/19 is rather common so they only run $230.
when i had my last set of 18" boze wheels i had kuhmo 245/40/18 on the 28x8 front which i paid $120 for and 285/35/18 on the rear which ran $175. my first set of toyo proxies which i sold on a set of stingers to a member here were a bit more. roughly $1200 or so if i remember correctly but better then the $1,800+ i paid for the 19's.
long story, lots of sizes and prices but you get the point hopefully.

Re: New Wheels and Tires about to come!
Kandied, i ordered directly from BOZE and told them what i had. Zak, was a great guy to talk to from BOZE and told me the exact backspacing i needed since he probably dealt with you as well as a few others on this board. My backspacing is right on your range, obviously again probably from the feedbacks from current thirdgen owners. I even told him the size tires i want to run and the fact i dont want to make any modification to the car itself...roll fenders, grind any metal from the body. The rears are 10 inches wide and 8 inches in the front. I was just concerned about the 1 inch overall height of the tires compared to going with 275-35 rears and 245-40 fronts. Bought the tires dirt cheap on ebay, less than $500 for the whole set shipped to me
