tires/spacers question
Hey guys i'm new to this site. I have an '86 ta with a few questions on tires and spacers. I'm interested in new rear wheels but am not sure what to do with winter coming. I've had the car for 2 years now and finally have the money to start making improvements starting from the ground up (yes, i'm only at tires).
Currently i have 245/50R16 tires on but would like something ALOT wider. However, based on this summer i'm worried that I'm gonna get hammered with snow this winter. would it be better to keep the tires i have now and add spacers for the time being or to buy new tires and have them through the winter? I'll be driving under 25 miles a week prob.
I'm not very familiar with tires so if someone could point me in the right direction in terms of diameter that would be helpful. I'd really like to change the current stance; i'm not a big fan of the slims and i think it looks alot better with wider tires or spacers.
Thanks Alot

Re: tires/spacers question
your post doesn't make since....
it sounds like youre thinking about putting new rims, but only on the rear????
do you think that spacers may help you in the snow? if you need new tires why would you buy spacers instead? you don't need spacers for stock wheels, and they don't make to many tires bigger than that for 16" wheels

Re: tires/spacers question
like i said, i'm not familiar with tires and wheels. I'm not replacing the tires because of the wear, i'm replacing them because of the size. I would like to be wider in the rear, that's why i was thinking about spacers. It's purely for looks not for performance
