Do 18" x 10" IROC rims exist?! please help!
Hey guys, I've been looking absolutely everywhere for an IROC style rim that is an 18" x 10". Im starting to think they dont exist so I turned to my last resort. The forums.
All I have found are the 18" x 8" IROC rims they sell all over ebay...
Please, if anyone knows where I can find 2 of these rims I will be extremely appreciative!
Thanks

no, only 18x8, you can have a set widened though.

Wheels America widened my 9" ROH Snypers to 11" to MY specs inwards (increased only the backspacing), as well as black powder coated the centers/spokes & polished the lips.

IIRC (the saved email is gone...weird) they were $200 each, up to 3", for widening. Plus the powdercoating & shipping.
Or $150 each, if you can supply the donor wheels. Instead of cutting, putting in a widening strip & having 2 seams.....They cut yours where they need to, cut ANOTHER set of donor wheels but 1"/2"/3" (whatever you ask for) wider than what they cut yours at. Then weld those together. So the inners are from a different set of wheels that they (or you) supply.
So if you can find busted wheels at a junkyard with good inner halves cheap enough & ship them to Wheels America, you might save a few bucks. But to me, it wasn't worth the time to hunt some down, then ship those along with mine.

I know there is a guy here on TGO that I see all the time, that has done that. But the real question is WHY?
AFAIK.....No 16" street tires wider than the BFG 295/50, which fit perfectly fine on the stock 16" x 8" wheels, so why bother widening the stockers?
I did it to fit 315s right now. When I need new tire, I'll get 335s.

Would 295 fit? Everyone Ive talked to say that 275 is pushin it. What I really want is a set of ZR1 wheels 17x11rear and 17x8 fronts but they are expensive. All wheels are expensive, the ZR1s are some of the cheapest but i just dont have any money for em.

I've run them before myself & they fit fine.
It is the 50-series of the sidewall, that allows them to fit on such a "narrow" (for a 295 tire) wheel.
What pics I have of my first 3rd gen, aren't of a good angle of the tires but......

That was 15 yrs ago. I really have NO CLUE as to rock chips & such.
The car got stolen a year or 2 later after the paint job, so I dunno. Sorry. And mud flaps are SO WRONG on our cars. I'm running 315s right now & wouldn't even think about getting mud flaps on my car. Post #4 shows them, from the rear.

Here is a pic of the ones I was looking at they arent like mudflaps on a semi or anything. Im hopin they will stop from rock chips, unfortunantly im gunna have to learn how to go slow on gravel. Ive got a lot of friends that live on gravel roads and we all haul a$$ down em. Im ust thinkin that wide tires will make it a lot worse then what it is now.

It's just one of the devils we deal with when we paint the cars. I thought about it too, but after seeing them on cars driving around here I just hoped it would not be that bad. So far the bottom isn't that bad but the whole top of my car the clear coat is peeling off.

Use clear overlays.......
3M clear Paint Protection Vinyl
When I paint my car, I'll do mine myself, since I do vinyl graphics, which is essentially all that is, only thicker. Easily doable by my machine, if I needed to contour cut it, although you wouldn't for rear rocker panels.

I know there is a company down here that does it, would I get a line on the car if I was just doin the quarter? What would it do to your paint, a new paint job takes time to cure compltly. I mean the car cover I have says not to put the cover on for atleast 6months. Wouldnt it be about the same.

You would probably get SOME line, from the right angle, because of the edge & thickness of the material. Would it be a big deal? Personal choice, but not to me, it wouldn't. Never used it myself, so I can't give you first-hand experience. But it is very similar to what the OEMs use for new car transportation to the dealerships.
Yes, you'd want to let the paint cure before putting it on, but not 6 months. While it is an "easy removable" product, that has a low adhesion factor to not harm paint or leave a residue, I wouldn't put it on brand new, uncured paint either. Car covers move & rub paint. This just sticks.

I believe there are a couple of 265/275/285 "street" tires out there, by other makers, but are soft compounds/street "slicks" (minimal tread depth & grooves).
That is the reason I went to 17s. Couldn't get a 16" STREET tire, bigger than 255 or the BFG 295. Otherwise, I woulda just had my GTA crosslace wheels widened to fit a 315/334 (or wider) tire.
