what size tires?

well, i have 14" s/s cragar wheels, idk how wide, but they pretty wide in the back. well, one tire blew out and i need a new one. the size is p215/75r14, but it looks as if the tire is stretched out on the rim width-wise and is bout to burst on my other one. do u think its ok? or what size would be better?

Sounds like you should get a size that fits better width-wise,whatever that is..

Re: what size tires?

They're probably wide enough to fit a 245/60R14 BF Goodrich Radial T/A, it'll go on a 7" wheel, and it sounds like you might even have 8s

Until you know the wheel width, we can't say much about what size to go with, it is a guessing game.

No doubt somebody will pipe up & tell you to get bigger wheels (17"18") but only YOU have to be satisfied, not them.

with a tape measure? measure the width of the wheel, from outermost lip to the other, if you can eyeball it, grab a square or something to help extend the line the the tape. Whatever number you end up with, take an inch off and thats the wheel size. so if the overall is 11", its a 10" rim, 9", its a 8" rim. The actual measurement is made between the bead seats on the inside of the wheel.

Re: what size tires?

Proper Tire Size should never be a guessing game! <86TA> metioned a good idea to start with. Keep in mind, over-sizing can be dangerous.

Look on the bright side, wide fat tires can be expensive!!!

My advice....take it to a good tire shop, have them measure the rim, and let them suggest to you something better!!!!!(size wise).
