Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
Seems like I've been looking forever at 15", 17" and even a few 18" sized wheels. I'm pretty much decided I'll just get a 17" set, wider on the rear...9.5inch wides with 5.5" backspace, (P275' or P285/40's and something narrower for the front, like maybe 8" wide with a 4.5" backspace and P245/40 or 45's...
No matter what, I like the old school look with 5 spoke wheels, and I have it narrowed down to these three that happens to be on the Summit website:
1: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CL...7547/?rtype=10
2: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CLL-9257957547/
3: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/ARE-CL2057956155/
Here's a pic of my car that they'll go on:

Interesting - I expected the soft tails to do better....looks like the old TT2's have it 2 to 1 so far. ...but that's only a few votes....

Very nice looking car you have there, Confuzed1. Although I favor the torque thrust wheels, either of the choices will look great with your ride. Ever thought about going with a 17x11" wheel outback with a 305 or 315 tire? That would look GREAT!

I would have to agree go with something that not many have. Any choice you make though will look good.

If these would have come in a 4thgen offset, 'cuz of my rear axle, I would have jumped on these in a heartbeat. Simple elegance.

I used to own a Charger back in the day with air shocks and huge tires hanging outside the wheel wells and it drove like a truck!

can you actually fit 9.5's on the car? I thought 8 inch was the max you could put?

Wow...considering that 140+ people have viewed this thread, and only 17 bothered to vote tells me I obviously set this thread up wrong...

Plus - there's really not too many choices out there that have a backspace that fits a thirdgen without using spacers....The guys running 4thgen rears have more choices...

Re: Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
I used the drop-down, but assumed those were different style wheels...now I see they're either gray painted, polished or black. Yep...they go down to 16"....seems I can only get them in black for 17" -and only 8" wide with a "0" offset??? That's 5" backspace correct? Too bad they don't offer a wider 17...but they're CHEAP in price...

TT2's with spokes color matched to your paint would look best out of those 3 options.

Re: Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
my vote is for # 2 the soft tails . TT2 Are nice looking rims but to me they belong on older vehicles like the old A bodys. Just in opinion. I think the soft tail would like nice on your vehicle being that it has a little more flash on the outside then the average 3rd. But me personally I wouldnt want any of these on my car. Good luck with what you pick.

Yea you got a point there most nice rims for our cars need spacers or if not need to be custom made but then thre it gets out of the budget.

Re: Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
BMWs have the same 5 x 4.75 lug pattern & the wheel choice is MUCH greater, if you search by BMW on Tirerack. Many are still in a 4th gen-type offset, but plenty are still found in backspacing/offset to fit a 3rd gen too.

Re: Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
i like the sundance retro myself the soft tails look like some kind of knock off of the newer style iroc wheels and the tt2's are not chrome so i think they would blend in too much on a Grey car

Re: Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
Got a question of my own. Which do you think would look better on a red 87. Black gloss soft 8's or the chrome soft 8's, id like them to pop but i think thy both would but obviously the chrome is shiny which attracts peoples attention yet, you dont see very many cars with solid black rims. opinions??

Re: Poll: Help decide...which wheels?
Thanks for the input, I was a lil iffy about the solid black wheels in the first place, friend said since its a red camaro with black trim and ect i should throw black rims to match, but in my mind they would look a bit off to me as well
