why no 17 or 18 inch gta rims

how come no one has made a bigger version of gta rims yet.... they have for iroc rims.... what gives.... imo the gta wheels are the best thirdgen wheels made and i would not put any other rims on my gta but 17 or 18 inch remakes..... i would love to put a 295/40 tire on a 17 or 18 inch gta replica rear rim... are there any rims that look like gta rims that are in a 17 18 inch fashion....

because there would be a very limited market, and 3rd gen people are CHEAP, so they would never sell. Thats why.

Except that 3rd gen owners would not be the only buyer market. With the standard 5x4 3/4 bolt pattern, they'd fit tons of vehicles. It would be about the marketing.

Re: why no 17 or 18 inch gta rims

i was in the market for new wheels and tires a few months ago. couldnt decide on wheels, boze were my style. but the gta cross lace works so well on these cars. repainted my wheels black and refinished the polished lip. looks killer!

if they ever do make a reproduction 18x9 or something i will buy it no matter what!

i agree there is a small market but the camaro, firebird, grand national, gnx crowd would be the first to buy.

my car would be complete with 275/35/18 all arould nitto 555!!

seems silly that we have iroc replicas and no gta avalible. makes no sense. Are irocs more disirable or more cost effective for production? iroc does look simple to produce.

Hi to all,
I thinking about using BMWs 18" or 17" rims, they look to close to GTA rims, BBS wheels and got same bolts battern, I will check maybe next weekend with used wheel supplyer, aslo, close back space size.

To do it right, you're looking at custom wheels that are likely two piece and would go for around 3 to 6 thousand for the set. Considering that's about what the average TGO guy paid for his car, I highly doubt these wheels will be a success.

Here's a guy that made a set of GNX wheels in 18" and they were an expensive one-off custom set:

It's a similar look to the GTA wheel and very nice.

The 18" IROC wheels are cast wheels (cheap) and the design is easy to stamp out and enlarge. Also, it's a classic 5-spoke design that looks good on just about anything from the 80s. More people like 5-spoke rims than they do mesh style. I see more aftermarket IROC rims on sport trucks and donks than I do on thirdgens.

Re: why no 17 or 18 inch gta rims

Mesh wheels are difficult to make & design, plus there are the cost constraints of a cast wheel.
