wheels for the 86 TA,and if they did what colors would they have been.I've never seen one with these,I'm thinking of getting a set if they were offered.

 

I believe the first year for the crosslaced wheels was 87. If you like them, just get a set.

 

Buick T-types had them before 87, but 87 was the first year they appeared on a 3rd gen.

The 87 GTAs had the first version of the crosslaces without the dimples at the end of the laces near the polished lip. For 88, the wheels were changed to add the dimple in them.

The GTAs got them (because of the extra weight the GTAs had because of all the power options & such) in order to shed a few pounds to get under the Federal Gas Guzzler tax weight rule.

 

I want to keep the mods to a minimal and keep it as original as possible,if they didn't offer them I'll stick to the ones I have.If they did I'll go for them,they really look good on the white TA's.Thanks Guys.

 

they are wheels, they bolt on. I dont see the issue. Keep the stock wheels in the garage/closet and all is still original.

 

86 Trans Am's had the Crosslace Wheels in Gray as an option from the Factory.

Most people think 87 was the first year, as they were standard Equipment on GTA's.

They also came on 91-92 Formula's in Black, with the 350 TPI & T-Tops Option.
