hi i run 13,02@111mph with 245 50 16 tires i would need to overrev the engine to 7200rpm to pass the line on 3rd gear with 3:45. i have no choice to shift in 4th gear and pass the line right after... i dont want to screw with changing gears in my 9 bolts BW rear end should i pick 28'' tall tires and pass the line at 6000rpm???

295 50 16 M/T street radial II 28 11.5 16 seems the best choice am i right???

i should have around 367whp with HP calculator..would these meet would slow me down???to big???

this is a manual trans? if so you want to be in 4th gear, which is 1:1 at the strip. If anything you should have taller gears in the rear so you'd be at shift rpm in 4th for best ET

 

yes it it 5 speed manual...but i dont have acces to gears in that 9 bolts...i prefer to go with tires...whats wrong with hiting the line in 3rd gear i am waisting my 4 gear anyways???

 

I would think that high in the RPM band that you would start losing power anyway. I would not recommend going with a 2 inch taller tire but maybe moving to a 26 x 10.50 et street. Have you tried shifting a couple hundred RPM sooner in each gear to see how that affects your ET? IMHO a 2 inch taller tire is going to kill your 1/4 mile.
