Re: Rim and Tire HELP!
Do you want bigger tires that will fit on the wheels you have on the car now? Or do you want to change wheels too? We need you to be more specific. Look on your tire sidewall(s) and see what size you have now, then let us know. It will most likely have a series of numbers [like; P215-65-R15] on the side. These will tell us what you have now.

Why did you tell us to
when you obviously haven't? Not only is there a Sticky about it, but this questions come up so often that a person has to literally be blind not to see a thread about it.

Re: Rim and Tire HELP!
Guys I have a similar question that might help the OP. I'll have to look at my exact tire size tomorrow but I have an 84 camaro with stock tires on it. On my 97 camaro I could get a 17x11 Rim and put 315's on it with alittle hammer help. That's the biggest and beefiest you can go on a4th gen without other modification. So I want to know the biggest using both a bigger rim and tire can I put on without any other mods. And that raises another question how do I then correct the speedo?
and OP if you want bigger tires eventually you need to get bigger rims, if not it'll look stupid and you run the risk of your tires blowing off.

I did 11s/315s on the stock 9-bolt rear end with only cutting & hammer mods to the inner fenderwell. So not real different from your 4th gen "with alittle hammer help". Just took more of it plus cutting.

OK then, like 86 TA said before, we need to KNOW what size tires you have right now, (not guess) and if the wheels that are on the car are OE or aftermarket. Look at the size(s) on the sidewall(s), and tell us what the numbers are on there, and If they're all the same, or different sizes.

Re: Rim and Tire HELP!
Pretty much meant no cutting too. After looking at another thread on here it looks like 315's are huge and stick out alot on the 3rd gens, but 275's just aren't what i'm looking for, i think. Is there an inbetween for 17inch rim or w/e size i need to get. 295s? or would anything bigger than 275's stick out? I want that barely sticking out, beefy tire stance.

For zero cutting you could go up to the 295/50 on a stock 16x8 rear wheel. 275s on a 17x9 w/5"bs would work well too.
But in the end, we NEED to KNOW what wheels you have/or if your wanting to change your wheels before we can recommend anything for you. Until then, it is a pure guessing game & a waste of yours & our time to do anything.

Re: Rim and Tire HELP!
Again.....Define what "sticking out" means to you. Mine "stick out" no further that what a stock 16" front bs wheel does when put on the back. In fact, they were built as a 9" wheel that I had custom widened an extra 2" to the inside. They fit completely under the fenders & about 1/2"-3/4" in from the edge.

and looking at how they sit now I don't think I need much bigger than what I have now. do they make like a 275 265 tire for 15inch rim. I don't think they're stock but i'm new to this whole thing with 3rd gens.

Re: Rim and Tire HELP!
I have 275/60/15 on the back of mine. They fit great. I'm running 15x8 5"bs Billet Specialties tuck tight in there. You can run up to a 315 tire in stock wheel wells with proper backspacing.Rolling the fenders, and knocking off the bump stop on the rear end helps out too.
