You should have no problem running a 245/60r15 tire on the rear with 7 in. wide wheels with a BFG Radial T/A tire = http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....=yes&tab=Specs

Re: looking for a wider tire?

Back in 2005 I bought a set of 15"x7" American Racing wheels, and on the back I had 275x60 15" BFGoodrich Radial TA's and they fit fine. Those wheels and tires were on my 91 RS until I sold it in late 2006.

What size tire do you have on there now ?Look at the link I posted above and scroll down. That will show you what tire and wheel combos go together best/are acceptable. Some take you wider while others take you wider and much taller. Example = a 275/60r15 on a 7in. wheel or any wheel really will give you a 28" diameter. Thats extreme IMO...and should be left to 1/4 mile cars that need it and at least a 8in wide wheel. A 255/60r15 gives you a 27in. diameter but also IMO belongs on a 8in wide wheel. Thus a 245/60r15 on a 7in wide wheel is 26.6 diameter and is wide enough to say IMO is perfect.
This is a 255/60r15 on a 8in. wide wheel. If you put that or anything wider than that on a 7in. wide wheel you will have more sidewall bulging than IMO you would want.
