Quick question from someone who knows nothing about fitment

Hello everyone!

I have original rally wheels on my firebird, which have 215/65/r15 tires on it

Would I be able to put 275/65/r15's or 275/60/r15's on it without any issues?

thank you in advance!

neither of the sizes are made, so in short no. if they were made they would be SUV/truck tires.

so what are the tires that are closest to that which would fit on the original rally wheel?
I really wanted to have 215s in the front and 275s in the back

A 275/60r15 is the starting point for some drag cars using up to 10in. wide wheels.
A 7in or 8in wheel will cause the tire to balloon. Bulging on the sides.
Here's why.
A 275/60r15 tire is 28in tall with a 11in section width and a 8.9in. tread width.
A 7in. wheel, no way.
With a 8in wheel and the proper BS you could mash it on and some do.I don't suggest it.

By the way if you do not have big power and the right gear ratio in the rear that tire will actually slow you down, especially off the line.

Here’s what I suggest. Go with the 215/65r15s in the front.
OK ,if you have the 7in. wide wheels in the rear go with the 245/60r15s.
If you have the 8in. wide wheels in the rear go with the 255/60r15s

Here’s what a 7in. wide wheel in the front with a 235/60r15 tires on and a 8in. wide wheel in the rear with 255/60r15 tires on looks like on my car.
