Re: Has anyone tried bmw x5 wheels?
I am also looking at some BMW wheels, but from the early 2000s. Biggest issue is the lug bolt pattern. Chevy is 5 x 4.75 (120.65mm) while BMW is 5 x 120mm. Apparently, that .65mm makes a difference. However, some people here have bolted them up with no problems at all.

The BMW wheels are hub-centric and BMW hubs are larger than Chevys. You need to get hub adapters to make up the difference. They run around $100.

You can modify the front hub and rear axles to correct bolt pattern (expensive) or modify wheel (there is a thread here on TGO about how to do that). Then there is the adapter route. Adapters should be hub-centric and will adapt to the correct bolt pattern. Problem is they need to be a minimum of .750 inch thick and that may throw off your wheel placement.

The alternative I am going with is to buy the $100 hub adapters and get a set of "wobble" lug nuts. I did extensive research on these and apparently they have been using them in Europe for years to adapt European wheels to American cars. Hard to describe and I cant find the link, but do a Google search on them. I remember seeing a set for $125.
