Torque Thrust Ms

Good afternoon all

I have a question about wheel selection. I am looking at getting a set of 17" Torque Thrust M wheels. 9" (255/45R17) in the front and 10.5" (285/40R17)in the back.

My issue is I am not too savvy with offset and backspacing etc. I just need help picking what I need and whether or not I will need to get spacers to make it work. Based on their website they "only offer" 45 offset and 6.77 backspacing in the 9" wheels and 44 offset 7.48 backspacing in the 10.5" wheels.

I have a stock 9 bolt rear end and in the process of changing the front brakes to C5s

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Re: Torque Thrust Ms

A 10.5" wide wheel is just that = Wide . With a (285/40R17)in. tire the question I would ask is "will it fit in the well" with out modification to the inside of the well. BS can take it in but how far before you hit the wall ?

By the way I love the Torque Thrust M wheels.
Is this the one your looking at ?

Re: Torque Thrust Ms

That is the exact tire I am looking at! I have 285/30R20s on the back right now (thats what the previous owner put on it) on a 20x8 wheel and its just too big for me. Nice wheels, Boze somethings...they look very similar to the Torque Thrusts. I will be selling them after I get a new setup.

I have seen people post pictures of a GTA and a Camaro with the 10.5" Ms on them but no word on what spacers they used. Sticking outside the wheel well slightly doesn't bother me.

I suppose I could just get the 17x8" or 17x9" wheels but I dont like having 285s on an 8" wheel. I guess I will take input on that as well. I really dont see myself ever going bigger than 285

EDIT:
Based on this
"'82-'92 Camaros and Firebirds

15-inch: 15x8 with 4 1/2-inch backspacing front and rear. Use tires with an aspect ratio of 55 or less with a section width of 255.
16-inch: 16x8 with 4 1/2-inch backspacing front, 5 1/8 backspacing rear. Use tires with an aspect ratio of 55 or less and a section width of 255.
17-inch: 17x9 with 5 1/2 inch backspacing front and rear. Use tires with an aspect ratio of 40 or less with section widths of 255 front, 275 rear.
18-inch: 18x9 1/2 with 5 1/2-inch backspacing front, 18x10 with 6-inch backspacing rear. Use tires with an aspect ratio of 35 or less with section widths of 275 fron, 275-295 rear."

for 17" wheels if I am wanting to use 9" wide which has 6.77" backspacing, does that mean I would need a roughly 1.25" spacer and roughly 2" for the 10.5 with 7.48" backspacing?
