The inner bearing was still intact upon inspection while the outer bearing was destroyed. However, it's inner shell is still jammed in the axle and doesn't want to come off.

I think it's going to have to be cut off. Anyone else ever have this happen?
Luck for me I just got off the turnpike and was at a stop light when it went...and of course, it started downpouring while I was getting it apart.
