Wheel options?

Hey guys I'm new here and this is my first thread. I just picked up an 84 F41 with 14" rims and I want to move up to 16s or 17s. Don't want to sacrifice too much tire so I don't want to go above that. I'm not really too much for TTs or anything like those. I liked the look of the Fikse FM5s but they didn't come in the size I like or lug pattern to fit. Wanted to see what you guys recommend or like. Any input is appreciated.

First question - what is your budget?

Second Question - are you going to put big brakes on the car in the future?

BTW, you can get Fiskes in any bolt pattern or size you want, you need to order them and pay for it ($800/wheel minimum).

My budget is well sized but it's not $800 per rim big. I have about 8 or 9k to bring this poor thing back to life, visually speaking. I found some JNC rims I liked earlier, that cost about $200 - $250 per, so around that or less. Not really a rim/tire expert, so I don't know what I can get away with on this. I do want to see if I can get wider tires in the back, but I'm not sure yet. I'm eventually gonna do Vette brakes, but that's so far away is not a concern right now. Car runs fine, my big thing is making it pretty. As you can see, she's really rough.

Tire choices in 16" diameter are drying up. There are still decent tire choices in the 275/40-R17 tire size and the prices aren't too bad. I would go with a 17x9 or 9.5 wheel with a 275/40-17 tire. If you use the 17x9 rim then you could use a little cheaper 255 width tire up front.

Specifically 245-50-16 choices, but there are dozens of 225-55-16 tires out there you can use too.

Definitely go 275-40-17 on all 4 corners - gives the best handling, braking, and straight line traction in terms of 17" choices.
