Thoughts on tire fit? 245/45/16

Would these work on my 16" IROC rims?

They will fit but are a little on the short side

If I went to 18" x 8", what would an ideal tire size look like?

Used a pair of 245/45's one time. They looked a little goofy. Smaller outside diameter by just enough to look "off". Fortunately they were Gatorbacks or GSCs, and I just couldn't stand them, so they weren't on my car for very long.

You would use a 245/40/18 with those wheels
