complete newbie to fourthgen

complete newbie to fourthgen

hey fellas, I just went and bought me a fourth gen rear out of a 2000 gu6, g80. and now I know for sure that I will need new tires for the rear. just wondering what is the widest wheel and tire combo for 16" and thinking of going to 18".

the car is 91rs stock height. right now the stock rear is open diff. 3;23 gears. if you need any other info. just let me know. thx fellas

I guess what I'm asking is: is it possible to put corvette 12" wide on the car if properly backspace?( Without tubbing). Has anyone done this? Pics? Remeber this will be a fourth gen rear. Thx

Doesn't matter what rear is in the car, you cannot fit a 12" wide wheel without a minitub. 10.5 is as wide as you'll.get to fit with minimal work needed to clear everything. Anything wider requires the wheel to.stick outside the wheel well or some increasingly more in depth cutting of the inner wheel well structure.

16X8 front 18X9.5 rear chrome iroc's it is then. Or' black chrome grand sport replicas

Then just find proper tire sizes. I don't want rubber bands I personally like having some meat on the road. Thank you.

Use the search feature, there is literally hundreds of answers to your question. Pictures, how tos, and step by step illustrated information on exactly what to do , how to do it, and what you can and cant do, such as a 12 inch wide wheel with no wheel tubs.
