What do they look like now? How bad are they? It's like pretty much anything else. Anything from soap and water all the way to sanding/polishing/painting.

An option that I prefer (because of the "natural" state of my wheels) but isn't 100% Factory correct is having them media blasted, polished (if parts need it) and powder coating them...
I have the turbocast / Knight Rider wheels... They had a rough cast finish... which got dirty easily and was a pain to clean... they had machined edges, which would dull... I had them media blasted, machined edges polished, then clear powdercoat the whole thing... So it has a bit more shine than from the factory, but with the powder coat, it's a breeze to clean...and after 10 years, they still look like the day I picked them up 10 years ago...
It is a bit more expensive than paint (yourself), but it lasts and is super easy to clean...
