Aluminum wheel polish
Hi I have a set of polished aluminum corvette wheels on my camaro but they are in rough shape and this might not be the place to post but I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to polish them and get them real clean?

I have found Mother's BILLET to be the best, until you get into the high dollar polishes. That being said, if yours are in bad shape, ANY product will make a world of difference when it comes to polishing metal.
HOWEVER......if they're stock wheels, they're likely to be clearcoated. No aluminum wheels that I know of come factory WITHOUT clear coat. If it's still on there, the polish won't do anything as it's not getting to the actual metal. I'd start with a good soap and water cleaning. Lots of times the clear is starting to come off and there's nothing you can do other than to remove/sand it off. Then you can refinish the wheel. ...but at that point it takes more than an hour or two with soap and water.
...and check to see if they're polished or chrome....as you'd want to take different steps after simple soap and water.

I've always liked Nevr Dull, it's more work intensive, but the results are A+

Re: Aluminum wheel polish
Post a picture. The c6 "polished" wheels on the vette most were powder coated chromium look to look like polished. The natural aluminum c6 wheels that were just clearcoated are diamond cut wheels amd will look like they have a groove pattern in them
