Good wheel specs for a trans am?

I'm looking into buying a set of wheels for an 85 trans am, however, I don't know much about wheels.

They're te37 style wheels. I'm building the car for track/drift usage, and want it to be fairly low, I.E more so jdm/track style low, than the typical 3rd gen definition of low. I've sort of been raised liking third gens, and want to build my own, in a style that I like just as much. I want to run a 9.5 inch rim with a 275 on all 4 corners, but I'm not sure if 18 or 17 inch rims will fit the style better. I was leaning towards the 18's but I figured I'd ask for some insight on that as well. Also, I'm completely lost to the whole offset/backspacing thing, so any help there would be great.

Also, I plan to widebody the car with a denko widebody kit (like a user by the name of morrow did on here as well), with the fenders riveted on in the 'drift' style, but I'm not sure what offset/ backspacing to go with to get a fairly flush, aggressive look. Any help with backspacing, or offset, or how to get the best fitment would be great, as I'm new to the whole buying new wheels game.

I'm looking for this type of wheel with this type of meaty track fitment, this gtr shows it perfectly.

Thanks!

Do all the body work before you buy wheels. That way you can measure to fit your car.

You won't find a te37 wheel in our bolt pattern that will fit.

I know that. I'll either be buying a bmw bolt pattern, or having the company I'm ordering through make a custom bolt pattern(they offer it, it just depends on how much more it will add to the cost)

Thanks!

make sure the center bore is large enough, 70.3mm to clear the hub.

XXR 555 18x10 would be worth a look you would need wheel adapters to get the right bolt pattern and fit your wide body just right.

Re: Good wheel specs for a trans am?

With the Danko widebody, you're going to add 1.75" to each side in the rear and 1.25" to each side on the front. To get the fitment you want on a stock car, you want somewhere around 18x10 +0. So if you want a 10" wide wheel, you would want something close to an 18x10 -45 in the rear and 18x10 -32 in the front. Not a lot of wheels available in sizes like that so you'll probably have to use spacers.
