Iroc Wheel Paint
I'm repainting my single spoke Iroc wheels and looking for paint recommendations. I'd like a gunmetal grey for the darker color. Duplicolor?
The silver is where I am struggling. Can someone please recommend a brand/color for me and a pic would be great. Silver metallic?
Thanks all!

Re: Iroc Wheel Paint
I've used duplicolor wheel paint before. Great product. I followed all the steps for prep, priming, etching etc. etc., but that's where you make it or break it. Final color went on smooth and even. Very happy with the result. Did NOT look like a spray paint resto.
....that being said, I can't really help you with what specific color would be best.

Re: Iroc Wheel Paint
Thanks Abubaca,
1) What did you use to etch? I am using Aircraft Paint Remover to strip, is that a good enough etch?
2) What primer did you use and how many coats?
3) Did you clearcoat, how many coats?
Thanks!

Re: Iroc Wheel Paint
I don't know if the Aircraft remover is enough. I painted OVER existing good paint on my Trailblazer wheels, so I didn't need to etch. I HAVE used the duplicolor etching primer for other projects though and it works well. ...I cleaned real well, scuffed, used the prep wipes (other brand not Dup.) and then primer'd, black paint, and two good coats of clear. I set up a booth in my garage and it was hard to see my clearcoat. Only blemish on one wheel was where I went light on the clear. Didn't know til later when I was all done. Still looked good though. -but the majority of the 4 wheels looked professional. I told a few of my good car buddies, and they all were impressed. It did NOT look like a cheap spray paint job.
