Description:
Purchased the Vehicle in Oct 2008 From Methuen, Ma. It was not running and had been sitting for quite some time. From a Visual inspection I noticed The hood was off a Trans Am and the Hatch had been changed out for one without the required 3rd brake light.
The Paint is ok. Couple dings here and there but definitely getting re-painted black in the future. The craigslist ad didn't state which engine it had all it stated was that it was a Five speed manual. The first day i went to go see it I realized it was the 2.8L V6 FI. Which disappointed me a little but it is an easy fix.
The woman told me If I can get it running its mine for 500. Yes 500!!!! I couldn't believe my ears. To add to the "unbelievable" factor, after she said 500 I looked at the Odometer and it read, 72,027!!
I did what I could to get it running. It needed the Following to get running:
- New Battery
- New Spark Plugs (Old ones were foiled)
After the 45min drive home north to Manchester, NH, She sat in the garage to clean the snow off her and clean the interior. I could not find a single rust spot on the car including the "infamous" floor boards" but the factory sway bar bushings were rotted out.
Months went by and within those months I've added
-My Car club Logos (www.Teamcrompton.net)
-Oil Change
-New Fuel Pump, Fuel line and Fuel filter
- Brand new 18 inch Metal FX Diamond Dawg Chrome Rims
-As well as new tires
- 2 10 inch INFINITY Subs with a 1000W INFINITY AMP
- Old style OOGA horn I purchased when i was 11.
- I could not find a taillight cover for my car so I just tinted the taillights.
I Just need to Fix a couple things. For instance the Emergency Brake Cable does not work. All 3 Cables need to be replaced. The dashboard is cracked. There is no headliner. The A/C does not work needs a new EGR solenoid, a new o2 sensor and the sway bar needs new bushings. But she Runs. And i Love the car. She has about 74,000 Miles as of 4/14/2009. I want to drop a 350 in but if that means losing my 5 speed manual I won't. I love driving a manual.
