Description:
Well as a newer member I thought I'd show some pics of what I bought last August down in Orlando Florida. It's a grey 1988 Iroc with 17,000 or so actual miles on it. All original with most options including the Delco Bose Sound System. Good in it's day but as we all know it's a thing of the past. If you look hard enough at the side view of the engine pic, you will still see the date stamp on the side of the radiator when the car was built. To the left and up from the upper radiator hose clamp. It's a tough decision for me to decide whether to keep it all original or do some modding. Man I want to add horses so bad. What to do What to do......PS one of the factory options on this was the rear louver option DE1 for 210.00 back in 88. But as you can see it's blatantly absent from the pics. Well someone had stolen them from the car before it was sold. Fortunately for me I found a brand new set still in the GM factory option box on Ebay, but haven't had the time to install it. Talk about a super rare item. Try finding one of those new in box anywhere! What's wild is i had no intention of buying this car in the first place. i was just browsing Ebay one evening and noticed how expensive the 1969 Z-28's were on Ebay, a quarter million on up! As a middle class person I knew I'd never be able to afford one of those muscle cars. So when i saw this 1988 Camaro Iroc in show room condition with 17k miles under 20 grand, well I was hooked! And now I'm a member complete with a forum. Now once I find my way around this place, all will be great. Problem with being a member to this forum though is that it's way too easy to get the horsepower bug and want to constantly tweak the car. So my biggest decision is whether to leave it all original or add the horsepower to it and enjoy it as a true muscle car with lots of muscle. Man what to do. I know there are fewer and fewer all original ones in this condition left out there and in a way it would be a shame to alter yet one more Camaro. Kind of like buying an original painting of DaVinci and then adding a building or something else to the background. It ruins the originality. So it's a tough decision for me as well as knowing it could hurt the resale value as well.
