You can see the black speckled material?? This is a thin rubber I can get at work. It is around .050 thick. It is water proof...AND FREE TO ME!!! This turned out to be a GREAT sound proofing material.

This was fixed and the whole floor was coated with a rubberized sound depressor before mat and carpet was installed.
