Negative ground cables from a 2000 Safari (maybe Savannah) van. 6 gauge chassis and 0 gauge block connection (shortened several feet). Positive cables from 2006 Trailblazer. 6 gauge connection to starter (same length and size as 3rd gen factory), 6 gauge with fusible link to alternator, and 6 gauge to screw connection where 3rd gen factory harness connects via original alternator cable and allows for other aftermarket power connections.

The original alternator wire from the factory harness can be seen. It runs from the factory black cylinder connector on the bottom and screws into the 2006 Trailblazer harness.

The third wire on the 2006 Trailblazer harness connected to a fuse panel in that car. Now it serves as connection point for the original alternator wire to power the factory harness. Also connected are power wires for stereo amplifiers.

Here the black cylinder connector from the original harness is in place. Orange and black wire on left side are factory and unchanged. Wires on the right are cut and re-routed. The one that used to run straight to the battery terminal is now connected to a fusible link that provides power to the auxiliary cooling fan which operates off a temperature switch in the upper radiator hose. The wire that originally connected to the alternator now connects to the third wire on the new harness.

All positive wiring from a 2006 Trailblazer in place and pretty. Minimal changes to the stock wiring are necessary.

The positive cables from a 2006 Trailblazer were used as an upgrade. A thicker wire than stock going to the 8112-5A alternator has a fusible link. The hole diameter will need to be increased to fit on the post though.
