Ok....here are the McCord Power Plate Switches installed......I think the piece of polished aluminum really highlights the switch panel...I like it! How about you guys?

Nice, I am going to have to try that when I get my headers and cut out. Any pics from a bit closer up?

Looks pretty good. Close ups would be great too. About how long did it take you to install everything?

Including the power plate itself? I'd say.......maybe....2 hours....it just depends how well you know your car. I had the shift plate out prior to installing the McCord Power Plate....so.....I did all of the switch and LED installation before I installed the McCord Power Plate. When you install the switch and LED......make sure your wires are ALL out of the way. Mine got in the way....and it tore up the switch when I shifted into gear...so...I had to ship it back to Keith McCord....but..he gave me a new one.

Thanks for the heads up! So, how are the instructions, good? Did you have to drill a hole or were you able to come in uner the center console? Thanks for the info.

Thats another thing.....it didn't even come with ANY instructions!! I didn't have to drill any hoes or anything..I had to take out all of my passenger seats.....pry up the carpet..and....I ran it underneath the carpet to the back passenger seat. Underneath the back passenger seat (the carpet) there is a plug you'll have to knock out in order to get the wire through. But....no drilling was necessary. Where is your cut out located?? Mine is in the intermediate pipe....almost directly underneath the passenger seat.....if you have it up further....you might have to drill a hole in your floor board.

That looks real nice :hail:

I would need more room:

N2O ARM

N2O PURGE

N2O Bottle warmer

TCC lockup

and maybe a few more plus indicator lights... possibly LED's with step down resistors??

Have you guys ever noticed on Redraifs Firebird the overhead console has switches mounted there that actually look really good. I wa thinking of that for a few things but am undecided if i want to run all of the wiring up there.

Yours looks great though.

There is a group purchase on them over at fbody.com. I should be getting mine for under $89 shipped. If you are interested, check it out. There is already like 25+ people on the list! Nice close ups, thanks for getting them. Once again, nice work!

Does it come with that whole ashtray switch thing?

Also - how hard to wire it up? Do I need to cut a whole in my floor pans for the wire or ... ?

It was a VERY easy to wire up. All I did....was hook it to my interior lights fuse in the fuse box.....and grounded it. Works Great....very easy to wire. And no...it's dosen't come with the ashtray switch thing....I had to make all of that....all it comes with is the LED and the toggle switch...and you can mount it anywhere you would like. I chose the ashtray cause...it's out of the way....and it's hidden....by the flip of a switch....it's loud as hell. About cutting a whole in your floor board....well....it depends where your cutout is installed. Mine is installed in the intermediate pipe.....underneath my rear passenger seat. You take the passenger back seat out...lift the carpet up....and there is a plug..that you have to knock out. I fed my wiring through their with no problems. You have to loosen most of the carpet on the passenger side...so the wiring will run in underneath the carpet and up through console. About a 2 hour job. thanks for the compliment 86IROCNJ!

Yeah, it is a pretty pimp system! Should be getting mine at the end of the month. Hopefully my car will be running right with a new exhaust too if this damn weather clears up! It sucks working on your car in the elements. I like how you did that 84customZ28, Don't be surprised if i copy your idea man, looks good, plus it is concealed. Not like people would say, "nice secret cut-out switch man", but still, it looks nice and clean, and that is important to me. Later

It's called an exhaust cutout...I have a picture posted of it towards the beginning of the post. I have mine located in the intermediate pipe......underneath my back passenger seat. You can have them installed anywhere you would like....it kind of bypasses your muffler...so you cah have it really loud....or in between.....I can still here the flowmaster nice a clear though....I love it.....

well..im installing a full cat back system with headers later on in life...where would i place this..and im guessing this affects the horsepower..since it resricts and un-restricts air flow..correct me if im wrong...i saw the pic and the reflection makes it hard for me to picture...sounds like a sweet setup..a must have mod to come

I am getting one. I wanted one ever since my y-pipe disconnected from my cat last summer. It sounded so nice. I never got one though because I thought they were really expensive, but know that I know where to get them...

Anyone know of problems with them leaking when closed. Having a killer exaust set up, with a ticking exaust leak sound would not be my idea of money well spent. If it works good though, very cool idea.
I'd much rather go the electronic route if it means i would't have to fool around on the ground with nuts and bolts on a hot exaust every time i wanted a different exaust sound.

Ca nyou tell me where the info is on the GP at fbody.com. That site needs major reworking IMO. So busy and bad colors make it a pain to use.
