Anyone know where to find a stainless steel bolt and screw set for TPI??

Was wondering if there is a stainless steel kit out there that supplies all the bolts and screws for assembling the TPI?? Not just the manifold to block bolts but also for the runner, throttle body, dist. cover, etc..

funny you should post this because I actually just found this site earlier today while doing a search. Looks like a nice set at a good price.

I bought some off eBay. Be careful, the stainless is soft! The "kit" I bought has several of them the wrong length. I was not impressed. Then again, I wasn't impressed with the SLP bolts either.

Just curious, what did you end up getting?

I got his kit from Corvette Forum and there were no problems. Evertything installed as if it were stock.

I only got around to doing the TB, upper, lower plenum and throttle cable bracket bolts so far. Looks great though.

They are a little pricier, but for information's sake, these guys have the kit too.

Valve cover flip?

Goumba T,

Did you flip your driver's side valve cover? Cause I like the location of that PCV outlet

I just got done doing a complete intake rebuild, and I left the PCV in stock condition. Had to get a new hose as the old one was junk.

important assembly tip for stainless bolts- use thread anti-sieze, and make sure all the threads are nice and clean. Stainless likes to gall, or smear, and can jam nicely in the soft aluminum. then its a PITA to remove. Its cheap insurance. If you guys already knew that, just ingore me, hah.........

Sorry to bring this post back from the dead, but I was curious to know if you guys knew the bolt sizes or had a way of finding out. I don't want to reuse my old tpi bolts, would rather go with stainless allen head bolts. BoltDepot.com sells them pretty cheap, but you need to know the sizes to order.

So far I know that the 4 fuel rail to manifold bolts are 8 x 1.25 (metric), the single bolt holding the fuel rail to the manifold is 3/8 with 16 tpi. On my thermostat housing, I have two different size bolts, don't think it was like that from the factory, but one of them is 3/8 with 16 tpi. Not sure about the other. And I haven't looked into any other bolts yet. If you guys could help me put together a list of the bolts I need to order, I would really appreciate it.

If you can wait a few days, I can get you the sizes from the parts catalog.

Nope, that's the way it came. Sorry for the late reply.

I was going to buy each bolt individually too, but it ended up saving hardly anything, and would've caused a lot af hassle.

Well, it turns out that the majority of the tpi bolts are the same thread and metric, the only difference is the length. Individually, they came out to over $34 without any washers. Thats worse than I thought it would come out to, since there is a seller on Ebay regularly that sells them for $29. In case anyone needs it for future reference, here is a list of the bolt sizes. My thermostat housing bolt holes have two different thread sizes, so I think one of them has been drilled and tapped once before by the previous owner. I'm including the size that I think is the correct one. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong on anything.

Part # of bolts Bolt Size

Thermostat 2 5/16 24TPI 1" long

Fuel Rail to Manifold 4 8 x 1.25 (metric) 1 3/8" long
1 3/8 16TPI 3/4"

Throttle Body 4 8 x 1.25 (metric) 2 1/2"
to Plenum

Runners 4 8 x 1.25 (metric) 2"
2 8 x 1.25 (metric) 1 1/2"
14 8 x 1.25 (metric) 1 1/4"

Fuel P. Regulator 6 3.5 x .6 (metric) 12 mm

Still don't know the bolt size for the distributor cover, or for the throttle bracket bolts.
