cruse rpm

My 87 has a 350/700R4/3.27 gears, my 89 has a 305/T-5WC/3.08 gears. the 87 cruises 60 mph at about 2000 rpm and the 89 cruises 60 at about 1600 rpm. do you all think the 87 is in the right range or could 4th be slippen a little? Is it like comparing apples and oranges cuas of the different trannys?

It's hard to beilieve that you cannot see why. Could it be the difference between a 3.27 and 3.08 ratio? yes. Thats the answer, that and the difference in final drive ratios of the different transmissions.

well I knew the different ratios were the main reason but I did not think there would be that big of a difference between the two. I just want to know if I am on par with other 3.27 auto set ups. I also thought the over drive in the trannys were about the same. .7 to 1 for the 700R4 right?
