Just someones toy. Started life as a normal camaro with hardtop or ttops and was sent to someplace for a conversion. Not really an unusual conversion either. I'd avoid it, personally.

PS, this guy hasn't got a clue about what he's selling. It had nothing to do with GM, but rather was an aftermarket conversion. GM didn't make any F-body convertibles till 87, and they were contracted thru ASC.

It is rare. The convertible on this model is a GM authorized conversion. I believe Auto Form built this for dealerships up to the 86 model year. Less than 500 were produced between 82 and 86. If you look carefully, you will see this is a 2 seater, not a 4. The last car converted was an 86 IROC. Auto Form does not produce these anymore as GM uses ASC to do the conversions. They are rare and the Chevrolet Division of GM is trying to build a database of all pre-87 Auto Form conversions. This car is valuable and the owner does know what he's talking about.

There's a white one near me that's in a junk yard. It's a 2 seater too. I guess that makes that one even rarer now by one.

FWIW these 2 seater convertibles show up on ebay more than the ASC convertibles. Regardless the only convertible truly approved by GM were the ASC conversions.

Its true, while i was at the woodward dream cruise i pulled up to a white one and talked to him for like 15 minutes. it is true and it was so sweet. it was exactly like the one in the pic, but it was like something that you have never seen before. it was white with a grey bottom. just my .02C

There is an 82-84 one like that (minus anything special to it) that I saw where I live one day. It seemed to be a v-6 (just guessing by exhaust & 14" wheels). I'm sure they can be nice and all,, but the one I saw looked like an aftermarket hack job consisting of cutting the top off and putting a cheap fiberglass cover in place of the hatch the merely hides the back seats by covering them. I wasn't going to get out at the stoplight to look,,but sitting next to it,, the was my impression. They don't seem that special,, especially for 25 grand. Just my lowly opinion tho.

I've heard of the early 'verts before, but two things:

Those don't look like factory Camaro wheels

and

What's with the Firebirdesque emblem on the nose ????
