hey fellas,
I just acquired a 92 convertible z28 with rather low mileage, bone stock unmolested.
I really wanted to throw some parts at this thing to make it more fun, but a lot of people are telling me to leave it alone due to its rarity.

I know there was only 1254 convertibles made in 92.

but does it break down from there ??
this one is red with only the hood blisters painted black, black top,
red leather int. w/ black carpet , red floor mats
305 tpi auto
rear drums
z28 25 year anniversary
a/c , fog lights, cruise, tilt , power seat, power mirrors & windows, cd player

any ideas on how rare it actually is ?

 

An unmolested 92 vert is a good thing to keep that way. Just keep up with the maint and "wear and tear" items and keep it another 25 years! Finding parts will now begin to be difficult if you have not found that out already. How is the paint / clearcoat holding up?

 

paint is rather amazing for a car this old , but I wont lie it has a few chips and scratches. if it is that rare I will keep all the parts for it . but I have already purchased a lot of suspension parts, / z06 brakes wheels and tires,

I do want more out of the power end of it, I may just change the gears and swap in reworked 350 tpi, and wrap the 305 up under my work bench. will still look stock under the hood. and still have ac and cruise

I would bet it has been repainted in it's life, Under the convertible top there is a vinyl sticker wear piece that appears to be missing.

Regardless, it is a beautiful looking car.

Not particularly "rare" it is more like uncommon.

 

mod it up and keep you stock parts in a clear corner of the garage.

 

I've got the same car in black. 92 z vert black on black. I found black GTA lumbar leather seats and put in mine along with Bose kick panel speaker boxes and moved the battery to the trunk.

 

Hello! Do you still have the 91 convertible camaro for sale ?

 

The red interior would also have red carpet and not black carpet.

Hood blisters were replaced or painted black at one time.
