Ok i made this aldl cable and here are the readings i got someone please help figure out what I did wrong.


All I had were the first two rows in raw data on the program WINALDL nothing else showed up.

The numbers were

That looks like it reads some bit's wrong and starts over.

Someone said that it only worked when the laptop was fully charged. When the battery was below half he got communication problems.

I don't reccomend using 12 V from the car to power the laptop because that could induce noice into the communication lines.

I have a bad battery in my laptop and I bought a small motorcycle battery that I use to power it.

Perhaps your serial port does not deliver good 12v on pin 4. You could try a different power source.

 

What would you suggest as a diffrent power source.

 

Lighter outlet for testing if that is the problem
