Sweet car spotted
Last week in Denver I saw a 91-92 Formula 350 w/T-tops that was yellow and it looked factory. it was pretty sweet and I don't think I've ever seen any others like it on the net or in person just thought I would share with everyone.

According to Jim Mattison of PHS, only twenty three (23) Firebirds were painted that color in 1992. That incudes all models: Firebird, Formula, Trans Am, and GTA. So if that car is original, it is extremely rare. Probably one of 10 or less. Two of those 23 were convertible Trans Am's. Pic below of one of them. Sorry for the corrupt line

Kizz, oh please post those pics!!! I would love to see one, I saw a t-top yellow here in Miami many years ago, it wasn't taken care of that good, but I hate t-top cars, they look ugly and the interior is like an umbrella when up! andy

Ok well I said they were bad, and you can see they are BAD because I was actually photographing the red car not the yellow one. I know for a fact that other people on this board got better pics so I hope they post them.
I cropped both Formula pics into one.. here it is. Next to it is the only TTA with a 6-speed.

Just passing along what I heard first-hand from Jim Mattison, who I tend to trust. he said there were 23 total made in 1992. In the past I have seen dozens of people on here who say they have a yellow 92 firebird. As cars get older, a lot of people paint their cars different colors, so the RPO stickers would reveal if the Denver one or the junked one are real or not. If they are real, they would be worth looking into for those who seek out rare cars.

I am also a fan of factory yellow Birds'.
I also saw the car Kizz mentioned. Infact I do have some pics of it, but no scanner, sorry.
I have also seen a 1992 Firebird w/ the sport appearance package a few times at school. The car was pretty clean actually. Everything appeared to be legit with the car too.

Thanks for the pics, it is still great to see a Formula ( '91-'92 ) in Yellow and hard top. I know about guys repainting and cheap jobs, but still never saw a real one hard top down here.
TAdan can you please find a way to get those posts posted on here, I really would like to see them, again please try to find a way for us on here.
I love white and red Formulas as I have one of each, the red I just got, mint and 9K miles, still new from interior to exterior, all original. The white one I am getting back from shop this week, it is being sanded to the metal and repainted white from factory code, 2k for job, no cheap job on her. I will post when I get her back this week. Andy

The yellow firebird in the junkyard was a v6/ t top car. It was originally yellow, cause the whole interior was stripped, and everything was painted yellow, floors, behind dash, behind headliner, engine compartment, doors, everywhere. I doubt someone would spend that much time repainting a car especially a 92 v6 firebird. So that makes 22 now.

Great point, the emblem looks off centered, not like a factory addition.
In reference to all the plain and T.A. yellows, they dont count, only the Formula was the rare breed. Andy:lala:

the pontiac emblem isn't factory. the yellow rear view mirrors aren't either. the export vehicles came with these mirrors from the factory, but they were black.

Bill, I've seen that car before but I can't remember where. Some lady owned it. I think she was saying it's a one-of-a-kind as far as being 92 T/A, 1LE, and yellow! I can't remember, but that sounds right! They made a total of 9 1LE's in 92 and only 23 yellow firebirds, so this could be the only one with both options.

That's weird, I seem to remember a woman talking about it. But yeah that's the site, I remember that too. We all need to have one of those stickers on our cars
How bad do you want one? I located one a couple of years ago using the GM part number and had it reproduced by a local place here in town when I had my SLP package decal reproduced
I haven't installed it on my car though and I ended up using the real SLP package sticker anyway...

Classic story: Guy has a self image problem and is not happy with himself, so he decides that he needs to surround himself with fast macho machines to try and feel all cool and confident, then he accidentally runs into a rare car and unfortunately for the car he can afford it, he buys it, treats it like a daily driver hot rod, lets it fall apart, and the world has lost another rare machine. This happens every single day with thirdgens! I feel sorry for that yellow T/A. Are we ever going to see a yellow 92 in a car show 20 years from now? Hell no, they'll all be painted black or junked or made into 454's and stuff like that.. what a waste. People with big wallets and no common sense or respect are very dangerous. Happens EVERY day.

LOOK AT THE PRICE MAN IF IT WAS NEAR ME! http://autotrader.com/findacar/vdeta...&car_year=1992 Oh and also do any of you know how many formulas were painted white with a black top and checkerd flag strip on it in 92? Or was I looking at a custom paint job?

I finally found the photo at the 2002 Trans Am Nationals web gallery! I tried to attach here but the size was too big in the photo, sorry everyone.
It tells a little about this 1LE Formula hard top in Jamaica "yellow" and looks really good and new. One thing though I noticed in photo which is weird, the side bumper rails are missing from car, looks funny to me even though looks mint. Andy

Yellow 92 Vert.
I was surfing around on: www.firebirdgallery.com and found pics of the "TransCamino" (The red Bird w/ the pickup bed and extra axle) Anyway, it mentions that the owner of the TransCamino also owns an impressive collection of rare birds...including a yellow and black 92 T/A convertible. Thought some of you would find that interesting.

In Tucson AZ this weekend I saw a 92 Yellow hardtop Formula at the Texaco on Broadway and Wilmot. I thought I was late for the breakfast we were having so I didn't stop. <---kicking himself

I just meet this guy that lives in my town with a 92 yellow formula with the 350 t-tops and the cross lace wheels. I've talked to him a couple of times and he bought it brand new in 92. Hes got 68k miles on it and its in perfect condition. All stock. Not even aftermarked exhaust. I'll see if I can get a pic of it.

There are two yellow '92 Firebirds here in the Atlanta area. Both are V6 t-top cars. The first one was seen at a used car lot and had about 130K miles on it. That was over a year ago, and I see the car about once a week driving back and forth to work.
The second one came into our Pontiac dealership for a heater core. It has black custom cloth interior and had 19K original miles!
Very nice clean car. Someone needs to start a registry on these cars.
