I assume you are running a stand alone ignition system since you pulled the ECM. If that is the case the only thing you need to do is bypass the starter enable relay and enable the fuel pump if you are going to use the in tank one. The relay is located on the driver side behind the kick panel and the fuel pump relay is on the driver side firewall. More info does help.

alright, here's my set up: 350 with a holley 600vs 4bbl. hei distributor with accel supercoil. and i am running a mechanical fuel pump, so i disabled the intake one. i don't know what all else there is too know. all i know is that the little resistor in my key is making it difficult to make anymore progress. i want to continue to use my current ignition switch and key, what do i have to do to bypass the stupid VATS? i compleletly did a way with my computer...does this help anymore?

Just the starter enable relay. Pull the driver side kick panel, there should be a relay. It should have 2 yellow, 1 dark green/white, and 1 dark green wire. There a 2 ways to do it, since you are probably going to leave the car this way I would simply pull it out. Jump either yellow wire to the dark green/white wire and it should now crank. Thats it. The other way if you want to leave the relay in is you can ground the dark green wire. The relay should click then you are set to go. Wiring it this way will always have the relay energized when the key is on. Either way will work, eliminating the relay is probably best over the long haul but this should get you going.
