Carbs: Edelbrock Vs. Holley

I had a 600 CFM edelbrock performer carb on my 350 (see sig) and I just bought a new Holley classic double pumper 700 CFM. I definately notice a difference with the holley. Just wondering what you guys thought of the two carbs. How much of a horsepower gain do you think I got goin from the edelbrock to the holley too? Anything you like or dislike about either one??

I don't think you need a carb with that much CFM. Did you try tuning the edelbrock before buying the holley?

I've seen up to a dynoed 30ish HP gain from swapping from an Edelbrock to a Holley of the same cfm, both tuned and in good working order.

What you actually got, hell if I know.

I have the edelbrock on my vette: Hate it.
Swaping to a 454 w sidepies next month and a 750 dp

Ive been running holley classic DPs on my Third Gen, a 600dp on the 305, then a 650 dp on the 355 and then a 750 dp on the 375: Loved them all.

I have a BG speed demon 750 coming this week for the racecar.
I broke the base plate on my holley and figured I'd try something new since I hear so much good about the BGs.
I'll try it at THunder Hill this weekend.
We'll see.

I've had nothing but good gas milage, good hp, and no problems from my Edelbrock 600 on mer 305. But now the 305 is trashed(cam gear broke) found a crack in the block. Soon to find out what the carb does on the new 350.

my car idles and runs better with my new 800 AVS edelbrock...

it takes 15 seconds to change the metering rods...2 adjustment screws...cant go wrong...i swaped over from a 3310 holley to the edelbrock...had the car running in less than 15 mins...
