Cooling Fans Not Working

My Cooling fans are not working with or without the AC on. Also my guage does not work, any ideas on where to start looking?

temp guage did it ever work?

either way for that take a look at the sensor that in the drivers side head its called teh guage sendor one wire connection.

for the fans, check for a burnt fuse in the fuse block under the drivers side panel.

also verify that each one works buying hooking battery voltage to each one.

after that i would worry about getting the passengers side working first since it comes on earlier than the passengers side.

alot of good diagrams on here to show you some needed sensors and connection for each fan, try running a quick search and see what u get.

From The service manual:

Check: C/H fuse
Ground strap on LH cylinderhead (rear)
and by rad support behing R headlight
Fusible link (by battery)
TEST:
Jump the A & B terminal on the ALDL with the key in the RUN position.Check engine light should flash and fan should run.

Key RUN at relay (still connected) ground GRAY wire.(You might have to cut into the wire insulation to do this do it close to the relay) If the fan runs check GRAY wire for an open.

Relay disconnected key RUN. Test light to:1.TAN/WHITE-ground
2.ORANGE-ground
both should light if not check fo opens.
ORANGE is from fusible link
(BROWN is from fuse and goes to C207 connector under the dash on the passenger side right next to the ECM there it goes into the TAN/WHITE wire then from there to the relay. Last week my fans quit, I did these tests took off that cover and checked the brown wire AT the C207 connection it was dead but if I probed into the brown wire 8 inches after after the fuse it would light so I ran a new wire from the fuse block to that connector and the fans work fine now. How that connection died I have no idea I wasnt under there doing anything!)

but theres more: (if that didnt help)
Disconnect relay, take a fused jumper wire and jump ORANGE to BLACK/RED if fan runs replace relay (what book says I say continue test because both fans arent working)
With that fused jumper wire in place disconnect connector at FAN check BLACK/RED with test light,
then test BLACK/RED with test light ground to BLACK wire. if you are getting power there fans might be bad.
Not in bookTo test fan run a wire from bat to fan connector and dont forget ground too)

BY THE WAY...if you want to add a manual fan switch to your car (after you fixed the problem)you can splice a wire into the GRAY wire to a switch and run the other half of the switch wired to a ground. This leaves everything else connected and working as designed but now there is a drivers option. buy a plain heavy duty 2 connection switch nothing fancy with lights and LEDs, I did this ran a wire from a connection by the relay into the car put the switch next to the rear defogger ran the ground wire to under the console by the power mirror etc ground connections.
