Those my friends are 9005 bulbs, in a Chevy Projector Housing done with some custom fabrication......

I'm not a fan of the 1 huge light look, but it doesnt look too bad. Good job installing everything.

 

It doesent really look to fit in there too well. I like the lights though.

They fit in there great, and are a great improvement over the stock lighting system....

Daylight pics would be nice, but I actually like the four eye look of the camaros better.

 

Maybe it's a great fit to you, but from what I see it's not nearly good enough of a fit for me to try them on my car.

Well, Fatal88 has one piece headlights. I'd like to see a pic thats not so close up.

Here are the daylight pics. I think I prefer the stock headlights.

 

I would like them if they fit better, but they look too small. Theres a gap on the top and the bottom.

Very nice, sets you apart from the rest. How much did everything cost? Is it still possible to adjust the lights? Are they any brighter than sealed? Did you have to cut anything or make any mounting plates? If so, what and pics?

 

The total cost was about $190

I had to make a mounting bracket for them and i removed my stock light bar....The brackets are made in such a way as to allow them to be adusted.....which i still need to do when the pictures were taken....NO part of the car was cut, only removed....

They are pretty damn bright, and give off a nice blue light at certain angles.....

I'm not completely finished with the mod, i plan to add some rubber around the headlights to form some sort of contraption to make them fit a bit tighter....

Remind you, that these lights only weigh about 4 lbs....

So the technically are a weight reduction mod, when you put into effect......you removed the stock light bar and 4 glass headlights.....The projectors are plastic

 

so theres a couple of tiny gaps that you can see when you're 2 feet away from the car.. big deal! i think the single-light looks clean as hell, and i'll bet it lights up the road a lot better. i think the mod is nicely done, and WAY TO GO, flynlow... congrats on all your recent car success -- she looks beautiful.

 

I think they're a great idea! And like many people have said, give them a bigger bezel or something so they fill up that area a little more. Let's get some dusk pictures!

 

I bet the hood can be adjusted and it will look even better.You can mess with the bump stops and adjust the latch down if you alrdy didnt try. I got the gap out of my hood and my sisters hood had a gap when she got hers.

I'm liking it. Very, very cool! If I had a Camaro, I would have done it too! I like the one solid headlight look alot!
In fact I'm going to suggest a similar mod to a friend for her custom Camaro! I have wanted to talk her into it, but I had no pics saved, so now I have a prefect example!

As far as the gaps... I think with some rubber around the light and with some small tweaking and adjustments here and there, the gaps will not be an issue. Every mod takes time to get just right!

What do you guys think about the idea of using weatherstriping to put around the headights to make them fit better....

I think its a good idea.

 

I like Fatals lights the best.. I would use a thin black tape stripe in the middle though and they'd still look stock to the naked eye

 

Fatal...do you have any problems running high beams or did you have to wire it differently to get them to work correctly?? I'm real interested in doing that exact swap as it looks clean and subtle. What year Monte did they come off of and was it an LS or SS? Any info would be appreciated, looks great!

 

They're the LS lights, I've got a set from an 86 LS just waiting for me to get busy on them lol. 86 - 88 Monte Carlo LS lights and Chevy Celebrity lights work but I'm not sure on the years for the Celebrity.

 

to be honest with you i think with some work flynlows will look better than fatal...

i don't like fatals lights that much, they are too big... the fact that flynlows are smaller make the camaro look sleaker and cooler looking... all he needs is a black rubber padding around the lights and it will look sweet.

I am inclined to agree. Although the gap is noticable, its not so large that it could not be corrected. The lights make the front end look a bit more modern.

 

Good start.. but they are just to small, and dont follow the shape of the headlight pocket. Some type of trim/bezel to fill the gap would help. But they still look like something you would see on an import.

The Lights on Tims car follow the shape of the headlight pocket perfectly. And have a factory look....

I think they look decent.

Ive dome it to my camaro, the reason why his dont look like the fit as snug as mine and Fatals is because he used chevy pickup projectors (i think) Chevy pickup have a smaller headlight in all compary to the style me and fatal88 went with. I used mine from a Chev Celebrity. Ones from SS monte carlos work the same too. Theyre just a bit bigger than the chevy pick up ones, fill the hole a bit better.

But... you cant get projector styles like the ones FlyinLow has for a chev celebrity...if thats what you wanna use.

Good work man. Even with the bigger ones i have there is still a tiny gap which can be noticed up very close.

The gap on top looks as if the hood isn't shut. Look at the side pic. I think the only gap is on the bottom, but that could be taken care off.

 

looks like a 88-90? truck aftermarket swapped one. almost a bolt in.

 

Chevrolet Caprices came with those headlights as well. Grams had an 87 Caprice Classic Wagon. In fact, I have a spare headlight in the basement. I thought about using them on my mom's car when the front end got hit. To do away with the 4 lights up front. Found a replacement grill with solid headlights though at the junk yard and used it instead. Mom has a Pontiac 6000. Though I think they are too narrow for this swap!

 

I installed the weatherstripping around the headlights, to give them a better look.....

Let me know what you think, or any suggestions to make them look better....

Also the hood is not aligned great, so that's why there looks to be a BIG gap between the lights and the hood.....

looks like the hood could come down some more. I know they can be a pain to get just right.

What about the car or truck those lights are designed for. If it has a removable trim maybe you could adapt it to your pocket. To fill up the space.

Maybe some painted plexi glass. You can cut that stuff to any shape/angle you want and weld it together with stuff you buy in a tube. Paint it to match.

 

i have always looked at the front of a camaro as being a face. headlights=eyes, emblem=nose, grill=mouth, and blinkers=dimples. the ones that fatal88 used makes the face look like it has no pupils, kinda like that one dude on star-trek that was blind. the headlight option that flynlow used makes the car look like an alien, just me .02

 

Looks good!! Another idea is instead of using weatherstripping, you could cut some aluminum paneling to fit around the lights, get it paint matched to your car, and have it look flush. Just tossing out ideas ....

Hey Revlimit, did you ever post pics of your job so that we can compare? I don't recall ever seeing any pictures of you car at all actually...I am not saying you didn't do it, I just want to see some pics of your car with them on.
