What the????????

I could never see how this would ever help, it would just create a lot more air turbulence. What in the world was this idiot thinking. Look at the pictures! Kind of amusing actually.

Good lord, that idiot cut right through the bottom. Creating huge internal vacuum leaks and sucking in tons of oil vapor really helps performance, right?

Actually.. After reading it I see that the idea was to seal off where the heat shield covers and have a lower plenum.. hmm..

I jsut sent him a email..a nice one too. here it is.

"Please don't take this the wrong way...But your TPI intake on here is ruined...that will do nothing but suck oil into your combustion chamber. You are not suppose to go right through the intake when you siamese them your are only suppose to remove the materail between the two intake ports. Sorry but that intake is a big paperweight now. Trust me you, or whoever did that mad a mistake, or someone gave you some wrong instructions. That intake is useless. Sorry just htought I would let you know the facts about siameseing a intake"

Hopefully he will just remove it, unless someone will buy it and weld it back together again
I'm sorry but I wouldn't give him more then $5 for that...It is going to cost a few hundred to fix it.

He already wrote back..seems to be a nice guy anyway.

"I don't think you understand the concept. To finish the intake, an aluminum
plate will be welded across the bottom to seal the oil galley off from the
runners This plate will completely seal the intake runner passages from
the crankcase and the atmosphere so that there will be no vacuum leaks.
This is taking the intake the next stage of development beyond the simple
siamesing.

Best Regards,
Dan"

It kinda makes sense I guess, but I would never bother with something like that. I think it would cause to much turbulance in the intake.

I see his intentions and still, I don't think it will work properly. To much going on. But hey I could be wrong and it will work great, but I still don't think so. IMO that is.

I don’t think this could ever improve performance. It would slow down the air velocity of incoming air, create an anormous amount of turbulence, and would heat up the incoming air. It would accomplish nothing; just make the car perform worse. Also it’s not easy to weld aluminum.
