Making SFCs

Why can't I just make my own SFC's... I have to weld the biatches in anyways... what's the big deal, so I make a couple cuts and another weld... My '83 T-top 355 car needs some serious stiffening this winter.. it is creaking way too much.

Go for it if you feel you can do it. I know people have done it, and it worked great. I have no way to do it, so I'll buy mine and have someone weld them in.

I just wondered why everyone is buying pre-fab when all it takes is simple welding, cutting and measuring skills to make SFCs. Maybe you don't actually save alot in the end. I guess $155 for Spohn's SFCs is not that bad... I will have to price the materials to find out how much I will actually save.

I bought my SSM Subframe connectors from Summit I thought the price was reasonable. The only thing I did not like about the SSM is they were un-painted bare Steel. I decided to powdercoat mine OEM black.

Did they help reduce squeeks and creaks?

I was thinking the same thing, But I was going to order a set from summit and use them to make a template then just return them to summit. This way i dont need to think to much just trace and bend.

That's a good plan... I don't even think you need to do any bends...
