Any suggestions here? I was looking at the Ram Air II hood (nice cause Ramairhoods.com is about 45 minutes away. But they adverstise it as 2inch extra hood clearence, so I'm not really sure if it's gonna fit. Anyone else run into something similiar?

Your car looks like the same color as mine. Glad to see you went with fuel injection. Why you chose a plenum that sits so high? Did you consider a stealth ram or mini ram?

Try to test fit the hood and see where it does not clear. The more I look at the picture it looks like the filter is the problem. Try test fitting w/o the filter. If the filter is the issue you can use a 1LE elbow and cone air filter like my setup.

It is also possible the power buldge will give you any extra clearence.

Actually yeah, I did consider the stealth ram. And considering that all the pics are with a Holley Stealth Ram, that's what I went with.

Nice car man , cheers on the engine also. Wish I had your knowledge on building engines I want to replace my tired 305 T.P.I with something more stronger 350,383? GMHighperformance mag did an article on an Iroc with a stealth ram a while back and had some nice results. Your engine should make better, more impressive numbers. Keep us posted on how it performs once you get it running.

I read that article in GMHP. Was that a 305 or 350 they put that one? I can't remember. I think it was a 305 though. Anyway, this thing better make more power then HSR 305 or stock L98 or I'm gonna be pissed

what size cam are you running in that beast. And what computer set-up do guys use with the stealth ram. Is it just a TPI harness, ECM and Prom? That motor looks scary. You really did a nice job there. That thing is going to freaking scream.

The cam I got from Scoggin Dickey and it is a GM Performance parts cam....234/242 @.050 .539/.558 lift. But in the instructions that cam with it, in small print it said "Crane Cams" on it, and I know that Crane makes a cam with the same specs so I'm thinking that GM maybe bought the right to sell that grind or something? I'm gonna be running the whole Holley 950 Commander fuel injection system. So full tunability won't be a problem.

Nothing new here at UD. Same ol same ol. I am slowly starting to rebuild the RS after the wreck. I am seeking some body panels and front and rear bumper as we speak. Going to add a LT1 cam out of a impy SS and change the valve seals here over the x-mass break. Other than that I just need to find another 5 or 6 grand to fix her completely. Most of that is paint and body work though. I am going to keep her on the back burner until I can afford everything that is perfect for her. I would really like to build a similar set-up to what Tom91Bird has done here on this thread. It is so nice and I would love to copy that motor except for maybe with a mini ram. I have fantasy's about mini rams. Until then I will monkey around and cure my HP blues with with the 95Z.

Glad you are rebuilding. Did you consider a GM hot cam kit. You can get springs, rods and cam really cheap on gmpartsdirect.com

Stealth rams and minirams are a sweet setup. Of course you can go with an LS1 as well. Either way I thinks it's great when people build up an engine the right way.

Good luck with finals. Stay away from flanagans. That guy is a real ****-whole.
